I finally give in to the rays of the sun falling on my lids straight from the opened window and wake up, not that I was able to catch any sleep last night. After Lia revealed the whole truth to me, I was left dumbfounded and it took me the entire night processing that piece of information. Out of everything that was the last thing I expected and yet somehow it was the most sensible possibility. 

All this time, I thought she was so weak that she gave up on our love just because her brother asked her to and that made it so easy to keep her away from me, to tell myself how getting near her will only cause another heartache. But now that I know and am aware of the entire picture, the only thing I crave is to run to her, gather her in arms and never let go. 

Yet, it’s the only thing I cannot afford to do.

Sighing, I pinch the bridge of my nose and try to shake this feeling off. Picking up my phone, I go through my emails. Theodor has sent me my schedule and thankfully, there isn’t any major work today. I will be asking Arhaan to manage things while I get my shit together. A day off will be the right choice to make for today.

I make my way to the bathroom, freshen up, brush my teeth, and take a quick shower. The cold water falling against my skin helps me relax and not let my thoughts wander. Stepping out, I change into some basics, a white t-shirt and grey sweatpants, and exit the room with my phone in hand.
